Her two graphic novels w\/co-author Laurence Klavan,<i> City of Spies<\/i> (artwork by Pascal Dizin) and <i>Brain Camp<\/i> (artwork by Faith Erin Hicks), were published by First Second Books in 2010. &#8220;Flow: the Cultural Story of Menstruation&#8221; (co-written w\/Elissa Stein) was published by St. Martin\u2019s Press Griffin in 2009. With Laurence Klavan, she also wrote the young adult fiction trilogy, <i>Wasteland. <\/i>The nonfiction book\u00a0<i>Flow: the Cultural Story of Menstruation<\/i>, was written with graphic designer Elissa Stein.<i> <\/i>Plays include the stage adaptation of Amy Tan\u2019s <i>The Joy Luck Club<\/i> (Dramatists Play Service) and various one-acts that were produced in the Ensemble Studio Theatre Marathon, including <i>Death and the Maiden<\/i>, <i>Rapid Eye Movement<\/i>, <i>Dreamtime for Alice<\/i> (Dramatists Play Service and Farrar Strauss), and <i>Memento Mori<\/i> (Smith and Krauss), <i>Seventh Word Four Syllables<\/i>,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>as well as\u00a0<i>The Arrangement, Where It Came From, Open Spaces<\/i>, and the book to the musicals\u00a0<i>Merlin\u2019s Apprentice<\/i>\u00a0(with Stephen Cole &amp; Matthew Ward) and\u00a0<i>Allison Under the Stars<\/i>\u00a0(with Zina Goldrich and Marcie Heisler). One-acts include<i>\u00a0Memento Mori <\/i>(Smith &amp; Kraus)<i>, Pandora <\/i>(Farrar Straus and Dramatists Play Service)<i>, Dreamtime for Alice <\/i>(Farrar Straus and Dramatists Play Service),\u00a0<i>Rapid Eye Movement, Seventh Word Four Syllables<\/i>, and\u00a0<i>Death and the Maiden.<\/i> Her work has been produced internationally. Her one act <i>Guts<\/i> was produced as an independent film, which aired on PBS. Other documentaries include AMC\u2019s \u201cImaginary Witness: Hollywood and the Holocaust\u201d and the three-part PBS series \u201cThe Meaning of Food.\u201d She has been the story editor\/head writer on many animated TV series, including episodes for <i>Reading Rainbow<\/i>, <i>Are You Afraid of the Dark?<\/i>, <i>Daniel Tiger\u2019s Neighborhood<\/i>, <i>Octonauts,<\/i> and <i>Bubble Guppie<\/i>s, <i>Bossy Bear<\/i>, <i>Love Monster,<\/i> <i>Bea&#8217;s Block<\/i>, <i>Zenko Go!<\/i>, <i>Deepa &amp; Anoop<\/i>, <i>Thomas &amp; Friends<\/i>, <i>Dew Drop Fairies<\/i>, <i>Rusty Rivets<\/i>, <i>Butterbean&#8217;s Cafe<\/i>, <i>Zooey Zoo<\/i>m, <i>Cyberchase<\/i>, <i>Arthur<\/i>, <i>Nina&#8217;s World<\/i>, <i>Martha Speaks<\/i>, <i>Speed Racer<\/i>, <i>Cloud<\/i> <i>Bread<\/i>, <i>Insectibles<\/i>, and <i>Courage the Cowardly Dog<\/i>. Ms. Kim has been nominated five times for the Emmy and four times for the Writers Guild award for her work in both non-fiction and children\u2019s TV; she won a Writer\u2019s Guild of America award in 1996 for Best Documentary. She lives in New York City, is a member of the Writers Guild of America East, the Dramatists Guild, ASCAP, and Ensemble Studio Theatre, and teaches dramatic writing in the MFA program at Goddard College.
