Leicester Bay Theatricals Submissions
WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING GENERAL SUBMISSIONS FROM AUTHORS WHO ARE
NOT ALREADY PUBLISHED IN OUR CATALOG.
- However, we will will entertain query letters from any and all authors about:
- adaptations of Twain and Dickens [plays and musicals]
- plays and musicals about the Jewish Experience
- Small Cast (2-5) and One-Man and One-Woman shows — both plays and musicals, adult and child/youth audiences
MATERIAL:
We prefer plays and musicals created for the Family Audience. Intergenerational Theatre onstage and in the Seats. Challenging and exciting characters and intriguing and compelling story with action and/or song are paramount. “Issues” are welcomed when dealt with tactfully and thoughtfully. Any other shows that may be accepted, though edgier, will be marked in such a manner as to identify them separately from the Family Fare.
SUBMISSION PROCESS:
FIRST STEP — QUERY: Query letter with particular attention to the audience of your play (any warnings we should know about) with a representative scene attached (in pdf format) and if a musical, a song attached (in mp3 format); your full contact information (name, address, phone, email, website); and production history. email
SECOND STEP–Full Submission: In our reply to your email, we will request the full manuscript and a music CD (or link to the music) to be mailed to or shared with us. This must be an exclusive submission. We will not review any manuscript that is currently in submission to, or consideration by, another publisher. A video of a production may also be included or link shared. We will throw away any unsolicited material. (So, do not skip the FIRST STEP)
