(Performable by Professional, Amateur  & Church Groups, and Educational groups. )

COLUMBUS!  follows Columbus’ dreams of becoming a famous explorer and his attempts to sail a direct route to the Far East. We witness his struggle for support, eventual backing from Queen Isabella of Spain, the survival of his ship’s mutiny, landing in the new world, and his effect on the Native Peoples there. Columbus may not have ‘discovered’ America — even by accident — but he was the explorer who enabled European expansion. Yes, we know that he did NOT land properly on the North American Continent; but he did voyage across the unknown to open the doors to what turned out to be a New World. This show leaves an imprint on the audience of following dreams, no matter the cost. This musical tells that story for young audiences using a small cast. This show was first produced by Interborough Repertory Theater and toured through Encore Performing Arts, Inc. of New York.
