S.W.A.K. (Sealed with a Kiss) • A Fractured Fairytale Musical

S.W.A.K. (Sealed with a Kiss) • A Fractured Fairytale Musical

Book and Lyrics by June Rachelson-Ospa

Music by Phil Goodbody

Okay, so this is NOT your usual fairytale of a Princess kissing a frog. The Frog Prince hops off on a journey to find a Princesses’ kiss to break a Witch’s spell and turn him back into a Prince. Instead when the Frog kisses Princesses, they are turned into frogs! This twist on the classic puts a fun-filled spin on the story. Along the way we encounter Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, a Dragon and of course, the Evil Witch. Your audience will be enthralled and “bewitched”. SWAK has a catchy POP score.

REVIEWS:

“We brought our daughter to see SWAK last week, and we’re so happy we did! From start to finish, this is a seriously fun show. It’s a treat for adults (my husband and I were laughing hysterically!) and our daughter was enthralled. Everyone should see SWAK–it’s a total delight!” ––Mary McCormack, Tony Award-winning actress from Broadway’s Boeing, Boeing

“Like everything else about the Midtown Children’s Musical Theatre Festival, SWAK is an unabashed joy! Terrific music, an adorably sassy script, and wall-to-wall zingers that keep parents laughing along with the kids. And the performances are top-notch–especially the hilarious, rubber-faced Ryan Knowles, whose star-turn as the lovelorn frog is, well, ribbeting.” ––Bruce Kluger, Contributing Editor, Parenting Magazine

“SWAK is a revelation. It plays like the best of Disney or Pixar entertainment–compelling and moving to the kids, funny and knowing to the adults. It is the first musical my hyperactive six-year-old ever sat through. At the end, he was so enthralled by the actress playing the evil-witch-turned-princess that he asked her for a ‘magic kiss.’ SWAK is, indeed, a magic kiss to parents.” ––Judith Newman, Allure Magazine

“SWAK IS SWELL…SWAK will make you laugh, scream and simply be entertained. This charming musical was filled with ditties that were certainly hum-able. Ospa’s/Goodbody’s well-constructed tunes were golden in the hands or more likely, the throats [of cast members.]…Bring the kids … or just bring the kid in you.” — by Alexa Garcia on Words4Cuture Blog, July 28, 2018
