The First Draft production script titled “Rudy Baggins and the Christmas Secret,” a Christmas musical for children.
The play involves a cast of 4 males, 1 female, plus elves/workers and snowflakes. Key characters include Rudy Baggins, Suzie “McSneezer” Snowflake, Santa Claus, and Bobby Baggins, who is a storyteller. Other characters are Mr. Bogutier, Bobby Baggins/Big Max, and various Elves/Workers. The story is set in the present at the North Pole and lasts about 45 minutes.
The synopsis includes scenes in a Toyshop and Winter Wonderland with 8 musical numbers. The plot centers on Rudy Baggins, the red-nosed reindeer, and Suzie Snowflake, an elf with a sneezing problem. Suzie wishes to overcome her sneezing and be useful for Santa, seeking help from the Silent Snowman. Rudy shares his story of being bullied and running away, but eventually saving Christmas with his glowing nose. Suzie’s wish is granted, leading to her getting a job in quality control at a Kleenex Factory. The musical concludes with a celebratory song involving Santa and a message about believing in yourself and Christmas magic.
