THE NEW YORK CAST ALBUM CD
starring Mary Cantoni Johnson
Fanny Brice worked her way up from singing on street corners for pennies as a kid, to burlesque, to Broadway… to becoming America’s highest-paid singing comedienne. She fell for a dashing confidence man, Nicky Arnstein–and when she introduced her immortal “My Man,” the whole country knew she was singing about him.
The show was originally produced Off-Broadway in New York at St. Luke’s Theater; it has subsequently been revived twice in New York by The 13th Street Repertory Company. It has been equally well-received in productions at the American Century Theater, Arlington, Virginia; the Rosen Theater, Wayne, New Jersey; and at the Phoenix Stage, Naugatuck, Connecticut. It will be produced next at the Open-Eye Theater, Margaretville, New York. Everyone loves a good rags-to-riches story.

DEMO CUTS
from the Original Cast Album (Many of the songs on this album you already know and love — we have included three gems here that you may not be familiar with.)
An interesting note concerning the song, ROSE OF WASHINGTON SQUARE, is that the song was written about Rose O’Neill, a beautiful, fabulous and wealthy eccentric who created, among other things, the Kewpie Doll. We have a musical about the story of Rose’s life HERE.
