E. Gray Simons III — AUTHOR

E. Gray Simons III – Since 1997 Mr. Simons has written numerous original plays and adaptations. His original plays include Play Ball!, Virginia’s History – Part I: Jamestown, The Mummy’s Tale and Other Voices from the Great Beyond, Aesop’s Network: Broadcasting Theatrical Fables, Nursery Rhyme Café, The Riddle of the Sphinx and More of History’s Mysteries Revealed!, Atlantis Lost! and Other Legends from the Strange Waves, Way Out West: The Expedition of Lewis and Clark and Further Journeys. In 2000 Berkshire Theatre Group produced his adaptation of Wind in the Willows. Since then he has written many other adaptations including The Emperor’s New Clothes, Pinocchio, Cinderella, King Midas and the Golden Touch, Arabian Nights, The Odyssey, Just So Stories, Alice in Wonderland, Hansel and Gretel’s Grimm Tale and A Tour of Mount Olympus (Co-adapted with Tara M. Franklin), Robin Hood (Co-adapted with Foster Durgin), and Monkey (Originally, a 1997 collaboration with Eric Hill’s Blue Hill Performance Ensemble). In addition to Berkshire Theatre Group, his plays and adaptations for young audiences have been produced by professional theaters across the country including Barter Theatre, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Virginia Stage Company and Infinity Theatre Company. His work has been enjoyed by thousands of school children and families throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and the Pacific Northwest.
